Monica’s career path was leading her towards wedding and event planning long before she knew it would be her calling. First off, as a teenager, she landed a dream job working beside two celebrity chefs at a Guide Michelin star restaurant. That’s where she learned how to handcraft artisan appetizers and desserts, and set-up tables the ultra-formal way.
Afterward, she brought her culinary skills to California and opened a booming restaurant followed by a 5-times award winning catering business where she once created a dinner for the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria.
Fast-forward to today, Monica has managed high-tech global events and planned weddings for 10+ years. Her expertise ranges from luxury hotels and vineyards to private yachts and other exclusive sites. Combine her production skills with a formal education in art, design and film photography, and you get one resourceful planner ready to bring your romantic story to life.
Her boutique event production company, Aubergine Weddings, focuses on assisting engaged couples with planning and designing weddings infused with their personality and style.
Monica loves to transform couples’ collected ideas and inspirations into aesthetically pleasing dream weddings. She’s enthusiastic about each couple’s distinct tastes and preferences whether architecting an intimate gathering or a glittering fanfare. Couples are her highest priority throughout the planning process, and ultimately she wants their wedding day to be an extraordinary experience.
Monica lives in Santa Cruz, California with her husband. On her time off, she travels for inspirations, and attend all kinds of events. She adores Elie Saab Runway, savors apricot French Tulips and craves handmade papers, and fashioned designed linen. She loves film photography, cinematography, and culinary creations.
